CARNEGIE, PA – The Tri-State Section PGA is thrilled to host the Drive, Chip and Putt Regional Qualifier at Laurel Valley Golf Club on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
The Drive, Chip and Putt competition is a nationwide junior golf development initiative aimed at growing the game by providing boys and girls ages 7-15 the opportunity to showcase their golf skills in a fun, engaging, and competitive environment. The competition is divided into three disciplines:
The 2025-26 Drive, Chip and Putt season officially begins on May 2, 2025, with local qualifying rounds at 357 sites nationwide. From there, participants advance through subregional and regional qualifiers. From each regional qualifier, the overall champion in each of the boys’ and girls’ divisions from the four age categories will advance to the National Finals, to be held at Augusta National Golf Club on the Sunday before the Masters Tournament.
Hosting this regional qualifier at Laurel Valley Golf Club is particularly special as the club holds a storied place in golf history. Designed by the legendary Arnold Palmer and Dick Wilson, Laurel Valley was the first club ever to host the 1965 PGA Championship, the 2005 Senior PGA Championship, and the 1975 Ryder Cup. Known for its stunning layout, challenging design, and rich tradition, the course offers an inspiring backdrop for the next generation of golfers competing in Drive, Chip and Putt.
“We are honored to bring the Drive, Chip and Putt Regional Qualifier to Laurel Valley Golf Club,” said David Wright, Executive Director/CEO of the Tri-State Section PGA. “This event not only showcases the incredible talent of junior golfers but also promotes the values of sportsmanship, discipline, and passion for the game—values that Laurel Valley has exemplified throughout its history.”
